For most
remote power systems designers, the last and often forgotten
system component is the enclosure. The enclosure is
used to protect and house the battery and system controller
or other ancillary equipment. Protection from the natural
elements such as moisture, cold and heat are essential for
the preservation and long life of the battery
and/or other system components. Equally important is protection
from vandalism.
Having
well designed and well built enclosures, greatly enhances
the life of any remote alternative energy system. Fabricated
from aluminum, fiberglass or welded steel,
these enclosures are robustly constructed for real world conditions.
They can be constructed to virtually any NEMA standards or
custom built to any battery and controller enclosure requirement.
Also available in steel or aluminum is our new TGPL enclosure.
This enclosure is specially designed not only to house the
battery and controller but to also house radio communications
equipment. Fabrication into a single enclosure with dual NEMA-type
compartments save considerable cost of providing multiple
enclosures, hardware and cabling. The TGPL enclosures feature
an airtight NEMA 4-type compartment for the radio equipment
and a NEMA 3R-type compartment for the battery and controls
- all in a single enclosure.
SWPV
also offers complete assembly, wiring, testing and special
crating for the TGPL enclosures as well as for any standard
or custom enclosure we manufacture. We can also install insulation
to protect the batteries from the harmful effects of heat
and cold. These pre-wired and assembled battery systems allow
for testing and special packaging prior to shipment and will
greatly minimize the time and cost associated with field installation.
