Filtered,
Modified Sine Wave Inverter
Xantrex's HI 400
inverter has an output of 400 watts continuous with a surge
of 550 watts. Designed for use in recreation and work vehicles,
HI 400 takes DC power from a battery and converts it to 115-volt
AC power. Its filtered modified sine wave output minimizes
interference and distortion while operating sensitive equipment,
making it an ideal inverter to power entertainment systems
in RVs or sensitive electronics in service vehicles. HI 400
is compact and is designed for easy hardwire installation.
Features
- 400-watt
Continuous Output with 550-watt Surge. HI 400 converts
DC power into modified sine wave AC power. With a 400-watt
continuous output and 550-watt surge, the unit is ideal
for running TVs, stereos, laptop and desktop computers
and other sensitive electronics. The inverter provides
a well-regulated modified sine wave AC output resulting
in low distortion in TV picture reception and audio amplification.
- Automatic,
Built-In Transfer Switch. Each HI 400 is equipped
with an AC input cord located on the back of the unit.
The cord may be plugged into an AC receptacle powered
from an external source. Battery draw is minimized when
external power is available by automatically transferring
through HI 400 to the load. Appliances like a TV or VCR
can be dedicated loads for the HI 400.
- Ignition
Lockout for Enhanced Safety. RVIA (Recreational Vehicle
Industries Association) and some states require a TV,
in a recreational vehicle, to be 'Off' if in view of the
driver when the vehicle is in motion. Connecting the ignition
lockout turns the inverter off when 12 volts is applied
to the input wire from the ignition. The wire is located
in the wiring compartment at the back of the inverter.
- Optional
GFCI Duplex Receptacle. Xantrex offers the HI 400
with an optional duplex AC receptacle. When a ground-fault
condition is detected, the circuit is opened. The Reset
button on the GFCI will need to be pressed to reset, once
the fault condition is cleared.
- 1 Year
Warranty. HI 400 comes with a 1 year warranty.
- Approved
to UL Standards. HI 400 has CSA/NRTL regulatory approval
and is approved to UL standards.
